Salcey Forest and The Tree Top Way
« on: June 15, 2011, 10:29:38 PM »
Salcey Forest has got to be one of the best days out in Northamptonshire!  There's pretty much something for everyone.  You can start your day at the cafe there for a full English Breakfast before heading off on one of the many different walks or you could even take your bike and go around the cycle path.

If you take your time and look around you'll see there's a lot more to Salcey Forest than just a place to go for a walk.  It's full of History too - if you look hard enough there's evidence of an old Roman Road hidden in some of the trees, several old oak trees and let's not forget the Elephant Pond which is so names as that's where the Elephants used to drink from.

And lets not forget the fantastic Tree-Top Way where you actually get to walk above the Tree Tops!

If you have children then there is a play park there for them to enjoy and the Cafe sells cold drinks and ice-lollies so there's an incentive to complete the walk if you need one!

All-in-all it's a great place to visit.
